K Club

A Merry time will be had by all at our K Club program on Saturday December 12, 2:00 -2:45. We will have great stories, activities, crafts and a snack centered around a Christmas theme. This program is for children ages 4-6 and promotes creativity, listening and thinking skills. Registration required.

Family Storytime

Family Storytimes begin the week of November 9. These storytimes are designed for children ages 5 and under with a caregiver, and do not require registration. Please see following list for storytime locations.

NOTE: There will be no storytime on Thursday, November 26 or Friday, November 27. The library will be closed for Thanksgiving.

Sunday Funday: Family Tree

Drop in at the library for another Sunday Funday. Make a family tree and use our guided handouts to investigate more about your family. No registration required.

Saturday STEM - Circulatory System

Mix up a little science, some technology, engineering and math and what do you get? A fun way for families and children in grades 2-5 to learn new things. Learn about the circulatory system and how blood travels through the body. Saturday November 7, from 2:00-3:00 PM in the Purple Room. Registration is required.

26th Annual Tail Wagger's Bowl

Love to bowl? Love to help animals? The 26th Annual Tail Wagger's Bowl fundraiser will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Woodland Lanes in Livonia. Tail Wagger's is a non-profit organization that provides affordable preventative and wellness clinic services for pets. They also accept donations and offers the area's only pet food assistance pantry. Please register by November 1 online or call Tail Wagger's (734-855-4077) to save your spot.  





International Games Day

Get your game on at International Game Day on Saturday, November 21, 1:00-5:00 PM.  We’ll have a variety of board and card games on hand for you to sample, or feel free to bring your own to share. All ages are welcome, and family participation is encouraged. No registration is required.  Just drop in anytime during program runtime and join in the fun!

Special Needs Storytime

Please join us on Saturday, November 21 at 4:00 PM in the Community Room for Count Me In. This is a sensory-friendly storytime filled with stories, songs and sign language especially designed for young children with developmental delays and disabilities. This program has been funded through the Dollar General Literacy Foundation grant.

Trying to get into the Halloween spirit with some spooky movies and music? Hoopla has kid-friendly Halloween fun that is always available for your computer or smart device!

NHS Tutoring Returns November 2nd

NHS students are here to provide 3rd-12th graders free homework help. If you're interested in getting tutored:
  • You must be in 3rd through 12th grade
  • If you're under 12, your parent must remain in the library
  • You must bring the assignment and any other needed materials

Days and Times

  • Monday from 6:00-8:00 PM by the Teen Desk
  • Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 PM by the Teen Desk
  • Thursday from 6:00-8:00 PM by the Teen Desk

There will be no tutoring during breaks or school closures/snow days.

Minecraft Hunger Games (All Ages)

Tuesday, November 17, 4:30-6:00PM. Compete to be the last one standing in Minecraft Hunger Games and you could go on to an international championship. Will you survive?  Participants must have their own PC account. Playstation and XBox accounts are not compatible with our server. For all ages. Registration required.

Time for Twos

Children, who are 18 months old to not yet three, may join us with their caregiver for stories and activities designed just for their age group. We'll read books, sing songs, and then enjoy some water play.

Registration will begin October 26.

Preschool Storytime

Preschool Storytimes are a fun celebration of stories and activities designed for children ages 3-5.  Children must be able to sit independently and be attentive for 30 minutes. Parents may attend without siblings, or must remain in the children's department. Please choose a Monday OR Friday session as this is a registered program. Sessions begin Monday, November 9 and end Friday, December 11. Registration is online and begins Monday, October 26. We welcome you at one of the following sessions:

Coping with the Death of a Pet
