Summer Reading 2009

Summer Reading sign-up starts June 15th for all ages. Complete your reading log by August 12th for a really fantastic prize!
Check the applicable section below for your reading level — reading logs are available for all age groups, and include rules, prize information, and more.

For babies to not yet 2 years old.
  • Color in each BINGO square when you've completed the instructions inside the square
  • For every 5 squares that you complete, you can come to the library and get a prize


For children ages 2 to going into kindergarten.
  • Color one paint splat for each book that someone reads to you
  • For every 10 paint splats that you color, you can come to the library and get a prize


This category is for kids going into grades 1 to 4.
  • Each time you read 20 minutes, color one of the spaces
  • For every 4 hours you read, up to 12 hours, you win a prize


Be Creative @ Your Library with a summer program that rewards you for reading, listening, and using library materials.
For kids going into grades 5 and 6.
  • For each activity you complete, draw the corresponding music note on the staff. Each note is worth one point
  • When your music notes add up to 10 points, you can come to the library and get a prize
Download the Book Review, print and fill it out, then turn it in to the Tween Desk for an additional music note!


Express Yourself @ Your Library is the theme for the Teen Summer Reading program. Find lots of ways to express yourself, you interests, and your personality at the library and win some great prizes.
For kids going into grades 7 to 12.
  • Read four fiction books
  • Read four nonfiction books
  • watch or listen to four media items
After every four titles, come to the library and pick up a prize.


The Adult Summer Reading program is Master the Art of Reading. You must be 18 years of age or older to participate.

The program encourages participants to explore a variety of literary genres with the opportunity to win prizes for each of the three levels completed. The goal is to finish all the levels and "Master the Art of Reading." Download the adult reading log and get going!

Complete the required assignment for an entry slip into drawings for these prizes:

  • $250 IKEA Gift Certificate
  • $500 IKEA Gift Certificate
  • Scholastic Book Fair Voucher
  • Nikon Coolpix S230 10MP Digital Camera
