E-book borrowing

If I purchase the non-resident card, will I be able to borrow e-books or does it only allow me to borrow books from the library?

Dear Tracy,
Thanks for writing to us. Yes, patrons who purchase a non-resident card for the annual fee of $170.00 are afforded all of the privileges that come with a Canton Public Library card, including the use of our e-books. To obtain a non-resident card, you must visit the library and bring with you a photo ID, and valid proof of your current address. Staff at the Checkout Desk will issue the non-standard card, to be used only at the Canton Public Library, which will expire one year from the date of issue. We hope to see you soon at CPL!

I just created an account at the library webpage because I wanted to borrow an ebook. When I tried to create an account at the Metro Net library, I kept getting the message that my library record was not found.

What else do I need to do?

Kathryn

Hello Kathryn,

To check out eBooks from the Metro Net library, you will need to log in with your name and Canton Public Library card number. If you have done so but are receiving a message that a record was not found, it could be that the name you entered did not match your record, or that your card has expired. Please call the Library at 734-397-0999 so that we may help you to find a solution.

Thank you,
