Small Business Resources

Hello. I’m a small business owner in the area and a member at the library. Are there any resources available through the library for me to get help with purchasing residential investment property through probate, estate sales, etc? Also, I’m looking for assistance in establishing my business credit through Dun and Bradstreet. Does this location have anyone that members can meet with to help?

Hello Bryan,

Thanks so much for contacting us.

The Canton Public Library has many business books, including those on real estate investing (section 332.632) and general books about starting and running a small business, which would address credit (section 658.11). Anyone here at the library would be able to direct you to these areas.

The library also has a Business Resources webpage with many links for small business topics and organizations (/business-resources). The library's database page is linked here as well.

Your questions seem very specific in nature and, although the library has many resources for small businesses, it may also be helpful for you to contact the Business Development Center at Schoolcraft College. They have business counselors who are very knowledgeable and their services are free! You can contact them at (734) 462-4438 and their website is http://www.schoolcraft.edu/business-and-community/business-development-c.... The mentors at SCORE - Ann Arbor would also be able to answer your questions for free as well. They work by appointment and you can contact them at (734) 929-1121 or view their website http://annarborscore.com/.

Please let me know if I can assist you in the future.

Best,

Amy Lee
