Looking for information?  Gale Cengage Learning* databases provided by Canton Public Library include tools and special features to make information accessible in a variety of circumstances. When a document is opened the “Listen” feature icon is displayed and enables a user to hear the article/information read aloud.

eBooks and eComics now available in hoopla!

Hoopla just got better! In addition to streaming movies, TV, music and audiobooks, you can now use your Canton Public Library card to check out eBooks and eComics! Just like everything else on hoopla, there is never a hold list for this great new content.

Check out hot eComics titles from DC, Image, Dark Horse, IDW and more, or flip through great fiction and non-fiction eBooks that are always available!

Let Gale Courses give you a head start in your career. In addition to dozens of topics for personal enrichment, Gale Courses offers 6-week classes to help you get ready for a career in health care, business, IT and more!

The Canton Public Library offers free Gale Courses to its cardholders, and the next set of classes is will begin on Wednesday, November 11. Learn on your own schedule, and receive a certificate of completion when you've finished. Our goal is to provide lifelong educational opportunities for you to gain new skills or improve existing ones. Exciting news: on Sunday, November 1st, Hoopla is getting even better! In addition to streaming movies, TV, music and audiobooks, you can now use your Canton Public Library card to check out Hoopla's eBooks and eComics! Just like everything else on Hoopla, these eBooks and eComics are always available.

Explore the Michigan Wildflower Database

Spend some time exploring this database of beautiful flowers found in Michigan. The Friends of Sleeping Bear Dunes Wildflower Database includes pictures and tells you which flowers are native to Michigan, their habitats, and the time of year in which they bloom. Research Local History with Historic Map Works

The Canton Public Library offers a variety of resources to help you with genealogical or historical research. On June 1st, we will be adding a new database to help you learn more about the history of places around the United states: Historic Map Works. This resource offers over 1.5 million land ownership maps to help you track the geographic and human history of cities and villages over hundreds of years.

Tip: Look for maps of the Canton Area by searching for Western Wayne County. See who used to own the land that the library now sits on by comparing modern map overlays.
