This week-long celebration features a variety of events in honor of Michigan's extensive trail network. Grab your friends and family, find a trail and let the adventure begin!

Library card holders can use their card online to print a free or discounted admission pass to almost 400 area museums, cultural organizations, state recreation areas, camp grounds and more.

Muggle Quidditch

Quidditch 048Throw a bludger and catch a snitch when you play Muggle Quidditch, the non-magical version of the game from the Harry Potter novels, at the Heritage Park soccer fields (weather permitting) on July 23, 6:30-8:00 PM.  Participants must bring their own brooms.  Registration is required for participants (ages 8-12) and begins June 25.  No registration needed for spectators.  Maps to the playing fields will be available at the Library on July 23.

Triple Crown Time


Congratulations to American Pharoah winner of the Triple Crown. American Pharoah is the 12th horse and the first since 1978 to win the Triple Crown. Come on in and see our display dedicated to the eleven Triple Crown winners and the beautiful traditions of the three highly acclaimed races:  the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness Stakes, and the Belmont Stakes.  Also featured are materials available for check-out containing  awe-inspiring stories of horses like Seabiscuit, Secretariat, and many others that have had an impact on our nation

The 2015 National Senior Games presented by Humana will be held in  Bloomington/Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota from July 3 - 16, 2015. Over 12,000 athletes over the age of 50 will be participating in the games.
